Quality c10 concrete
Ideal Applications for This Mix
Common Uses for C10 / GEN1 Concrete
C10 is particularly well-suited for:
Blinding Layers Beneath Foundations:
Creates a clean, level surface for pouring stronger concrete on top, protecting damp-proof membranes and making the final pour easier to complete.
Trench Fill and Drainage Work:
Ideal for filling trenches around pipes and utilities, as well as bedding for drainage systems where heavy loads will not be present.
Unreinforced Strip Foundations:
Suitable for lightweight structures such as garden walls, small outbuildings and boundary walls where structural demands are modest.
Agricultural and Farm Applications:
Works well for yard areas, animal shelters and storage bases where a hardwearing surface is needed without the cost of a higher-grade mix.
Cavity Filling and Mass Fill:
Perfect for filling voids, stabilising ground and providing bulk where structural performance is secondary to coverage.

Why Use C10 Concrete for Your Project?
Benefits of C10 / GEN1 Concrete
Budget-Friendly
Because C10 uses less cement than stronger grades, it costs less per cubic metre. This makes it an excellent choice when you need to cover larger areas without heavy loading requirements.
Highly Workable
The consistency of C10 makes it straightforward to pour and spread, even in confined spaces or awkward corners where manoeuvring is tricky.
Versatile Applications
From agricultural settings to domestic garden projects, C10 adapts to a wide range of tasks where a solid, stable base is needed.
Quick to Place
The mix flows well and settles efficiently, helping your project move along without delays.

What Sets Us Apart From Other Suppliers
Why Choose Base Concrete?
When you order from Base Concrete, you are working with a local company that genuinely cares about getting your project right. All of our concrete comes from QSRMC accredited plants and meets British Standard BS8500-2, so you can trust that the mix arriving on site will perform exactly as expected.
Fresh On-Site Mixing
Our volumetric lorries carry raw materials separately and mix your concrete on arrival. This means you get a fresh batch every time, with no risk of the mix starting to set during transit.
Pay Only for What You Use
Unlike traditional drum mixers that deliver a fixed load, our volumetric system lets you take exactly what you need. No more paying for leftover concrete you cannot use.
Flexible Delivery Options
We operate smaller lorries that can access tight spaces, as well as larger vehicles for bigger pours. If access is difficult, our concrete pumps can run pipes up to 100 metres to reach your pour site.
Friendly, Helpful Service
Our team will talk through your measurements over the phone and help you work out exactly how much concrete you need. We aim to leave your site clean and tidy, which is something our customers appreciate.
What Is the Difference Between C10 and C15 Concrete?
The main difference is compressive strength. C10 concrete reaches 10 newtons per square millimetre after 28 days, whilst C15 reaches 15 newtons. C10 contains less cement, making it more affordable but suitable only for lighter applications. C15 can handle slightly heavier loads and is often used for domestic floors and small foundations.
How Much C10 Concrete Do I Need?
The amount depends on the area and depth of your pour. Use our online concrete calculator to work out the cubic metres required, or call our team and we will help you calculate the right quantity based on your measurements.
Can C10 Concrete Be Pumped?
Yes, C10 concrete can be pumped using our line pumps or boom pump. This is particularly useful for sites with restricted access or when you need to move concrete over longer distances. Our pumps can reach up to 100 metres from the lorry.
How Long Does C10 Concrete Take to Cure?
C10 concrete reaches its full strength after 28 days of curing. However, it will be firm enough to walk on after 24 to 48 hours in normal conditions. Avoid placing heavy loads on the surface until it has fully cured.
Is C10 Concrete Suitable for a Shed Base?
C10 can work for very lightweight sheds, but we generally recommend C15 or C20 for shed bases to provide a more durable surface. Our team can advise on the best grade for your specific project.
