How Concrete Pumps Work
Friday, October 14th, 2011Planning a large construction job but concerned about how you’re going to get the large amount of concrete on site without large expenses or labour time being used up? Our team here at Base Concrete can help. Not only can we supply you with a range of concrete mixes to suit your specific needs and requirements, no matter how large or small, but we’re also able to ensure that the concrete reaches its intended destination on time. This is made possible by our dedication to providing the best service to our customers, and through the use of our concrete pumps Luton to transport the goods.
How Does it Work?
At first glance a concrete line pump may look complicated or it may seem as though the concrete won’t be able to pass through; however the mechanisms involved are relatively simple and easy to use.
The main components of a line pump, along with the tubes are the diesel powered engine which is attached to the back of the cement truck and a large worm gear which is at the centre of a funnel. The diesel engine controls the worm gear and pushes the cement down the line to its destination.
Why Use a Pump?
Although our friendly and reliable team have no objection to waiting on site whilst you and your team transport the concrete we deliver via whatever means possible, we believe that the use of concrete pumps is beneficial for all parties concerned.
The main advantage of using a concrete pump on your site is that it cuts down on the time being used to transport the concrete from the location it’s delivered to, to where it is required on site; meaning your team can continue with other jobs at hand, such as fitting the garage doors Luton, or any other tasks which are on the ‘to do’ list. Our 70 metre, easy to manoeuvre line pumps also enable even the largest amount of concrete to be delivered to construction sites with limited or tight access.
